Grandparents Rearing Grandchildren
Soroptimist International Joondalup members host catering, support and events for the Grandparents Rearing Grandchildren group at the Kingsley Hall. It is such an integral part of our community, with many Grandparents requiring support to help out with their grandchildren.
GRGWA is a registered charity offering support services to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren on a full-time basis. There are many reasons why grandparents are raising grandchildren. It may be because of the death of a parent or that parents are not able to provide the social and emotional support for their children. Sadly in our community the increase abuse of alcohol and drugs has meant that children are being neglected and in some cases abused.

Days for Girls
Soroptimist International Joondalup members hold sewing days to create kits for the Days for Girls Organisation.
Days for Girls increases access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating social enterprises, mobilizing volunteers, and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls.
Together, we're creating a world with dignity, health, and opportunity for all.Our movement has reached more than one million girls — and counting!
With your help, we can reach Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.
Girls in Science
Soroptimist sponsored a local Butler student to participate in a Turtle Conservation Project in Indonesia as part of the Girls in Science project. The project aims to provide an opportunity to a girl in the science discipline, to participate in a skill building activity to help her reach her potential.
Jacaranda Lodge - Wanneroo
Soroptimist International Joondalup members provide a monthly entertainment session at the Jacaranda Lodge Aged Care facility in Wanneroo. Residents are invited to an afternoon tea and entertainment by local musicians and performers.
Each week, members also visit the residents in a companion capacity to have a Nails and Natter session.
Amana Day Care
Soroptimist International Joondalup hosts an annual event for the carers at Amana Day care. This is to show recognition for all the wonderful work they do at the centre.
