Soroptimist International of South Queensland sponsors of the Soroptimist International Women Empowering Others in the 2019 Seven News Young Achiever Awards, are pleased to announce the Finalist for this award.

The Awards aim to encourage, acknowledge and reward the achievements and valuable contribution young individuals make in their local communities.

The Finalists are:
• Samara Welbourne, 18 of Minyama
• Emily Smith, 18 of Bundaberg
• Madina Mohmood, 22 of Redland Bay
• Angel Dixon, 28 of Miami

Many young women are passionate about empowering others. The Soroptimist International Women Empowering
Others Award acknowledges and celebrates the commitment of young women in initiating and leading activities which
enable change in the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and/or internationally.
The Finalists will be presented and Winners announced at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner to be held at Royal on
the Park Brisbane on Friday evening 3rd May. Great prizes are up for grabs with each category winner receiving $2,000
from Auswide Bank, plus a trophy.
One of the eight category winners will be chosen as the 2019 Queensland Young Achiever of the Year and will receive an
additional $2,000 from Auswide Bank and an overall state trophy.
