Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Honourable Nadiem Makarim will officiate the Opening Ceremony of SISWP Virtual Conference of Clubs 2020 and deliver his key insights on how we need to transform the way we educate people using innovation and creativity. Minister Nadiem is considered a highly dynamic, versatile and innovative businessperson who is determined to transform Indonesia's education sector and bridge the digital divide. Humble and approachable, brilliant and caring, Minister Nadiem is a Harvard alumni who is tasked with the mission to revitalise Indonesia's highly bureaucratic and outdated education system.

He is the founder of Indonesia's first startup and transportation network company called GOJEK, which in 2017 made it to Fortune's Top 50 Companies That Changed The World, ranking 17th worldwide. In 2019, Nadiem was listed in the “100 Next list for Leaders” category by Time magazine. Under his leadership, Gojek grew to become one of Indonesia's biggest startups with an estimated value of at least US$ 10 billion.

He was recognised as “Asian of the Year” in 2016 by Singapore Straits Times and Top Business Leader in 2018 Bloomberg 50 due to his immense contribution to improving the welfare of workers in the informal sector, creating tens of thousands of jobs across vast Indonesia. Come prepared to be amazed by his brilliant insights and innovative ideas!
